Planning for Seasonal Transitions: Embrace the Shift

There’s a moment between seasons.

A quiet in-between.
Where the old rhythm doesn’t quite work anymore…
and the new one hasn’t fully arrived yet.

That’s where I’ve been.

Over the last few months, I had to make a decision I never expected to face so soon.
I left my full-time job.

Not because I had everything figured out.
But because I was tired of splitting myself in ways that didn’t feel sustainable.
Because I have a toddler at home.
And I’m expecting my third child.

It wasn’t an easy choice.
It felt risky. Emotional. Uncomfortable.
But it also felt necessary—because what I needed most wasn’t more productivity.
It was rhythm.

A slower, more intentional way forward that could honor the season I’m in.

This kind of shift can look different for each of us.

Maybe you’re:

  • Questioning if you’re still in the right role or career
  • Navigating early motherhood or an unexpected pregnancy
  • Grieving a change in plans that you didn’t choose
  • Rebuilding after burnout
  • Trying to figure out if where you are is where you’re meant to be

These are not just logistics to manage.
They’re real transitions. Internal shifts. Emotional weight.

And if that’s where you are…
I just want to say—you’re allowed to take it seriously.

Planning for a new season doesn’t start with structure.

It starts with honesty.

Not the kind that demands answers or clarity right away—
but the kind that gives you space to ask real questions.

  • What’s actually working—and what’s quietly wearing me down?
  • What feels life-giving, energizing, meaningful?
  • What have I been pushing through that might need to be released?
  • Where could I make room—not just in my schedule, but in my heart—for what I truly need right now?

This kind of reflection isn’t always tidy.
Sometimes it stirs up discomfort.
Sometimes it brings relief.
Sometimes it just reminds you that it’s okay to not have it all figured out.

You don’t need to plan the next twelve months.
You just need to tune into the quiet shifts already unfolding inside you.
The longings. The fatigue. The gentle pull toward something different.

Because even if the transition feels disorienting or uncertain…
it might also be an invitation.

What I’ve learned (and keep relearning):

There’s courage in slowing down.
There’s wisdom in letting go of what no longer fits.
And sometimes the most productive thing we can do is pause
long enough to notice what matters most.
And start there.

A Gentle Practice for This Week:

Take 10 minutes with your journal or a quiet corner of your day.
Ask yourself:

What season am I in right now—mentally, emotionally, physically?
And what might this season need from me?

Let the answer be honest, even if it’s incomplete.
Let it guide how you show up gently, today.

🌿

P.S. If you’re stepping into a new season and your old planning tools aren’t working…

Maybe you’ve felt it too—that tug that says the checklist isn’t cutting it anymore.
That what used to help you feel grounded now just feels like noise.

If you’re ready to plan differently…
